Winterland

The artist works alone, creating carefully staged sets in her studio while photographing simple objects like a piece of paper or a white plastic bag, or, camera in hand, walking around the streets and parks of the city or the woods in the countryside. Brooklyn, where she currently lives, and the Hudson Valley, where she spends considerable time, are favorite grounds for inspiration.

Debra holds a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from Rutgers University and subsequently pursued a career in real estate. She also studied at the International Center of Photography and Pratt Institute in New York.

Her photographs have been exhibited across the east coast of the U.S., published in The Photo Review and the Light Journal, and she is part of many private collections.
